Following his stint with Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue in 1976, Mick briefly teamed up with David Cassidy and Ricky Fataar before returning to upstate New York. There he formed the Mick Ronson Band (Mick Barakan - guitar; Jay Davis - bass; Bobby Chen - drums), and recorded much of this material on 24 track at Bearsville Studios. The remainder of disc was recorded on 4 track at neighboring Turtle Creek Barn, with Burt Carey replacing Jay Davis on bass. The first 2500 copies of the New Millenium CD include a second bonus disc of demos and alternate takes. The album features extensive liner notes by Cambell Devine, and additional notes by Ian Hunter, Suzi Ronson, and Bobby Chen. Many beautiful Mick Rock photographs are also included in the 20 page booket and clear jewel case.

Rounding out the disc is Mick's solo material recorded during various Ian Hunter tours in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. The bonus disc adds some of Mick's solo material from his 1991 Scandanavian tours with Ian Hunter and Graham Parker.
