A forgettable juvenile comedy about a group of college students competing in raft race, starring Tim Matheson, Jennifer Runyon, John Hillerman, and Dan Monahan. Ian's contribution is Great Expectations, a song written about his daughter Tracie. It was recorded by Ian with Shooting Star, but Ian recalls in Campbell Devine's biography that they ended up using Ian's demo instead. Shooting Star members members Van McLain, Norm Dahlor, and Steve Thomas contributed backing vocals.

This was a low budget horror movie starring Charlie Sheen, Nick Cassavetes, Sheriyn Fenn, and Randy Quaid. The plot involves a mysterious car and driver who takes his revenge on a drag racing gang in a small desert town. In Germany, the movie was issued under the title Interceptor. Ian's contribution, Wake Up Call, was written by Arthur Baker, Tina B., and Tommy Mandel. [Tom Mandel] Wake Up Call was a song that Ian and Arthur Baker were working on, and Ian asked me to come in (or maybe Arthur did, because I'd been doing some sessions at his studio in that period.) They were nice enough to give me writing credit on the tune for just making up some keyboard ideas and recording with them. It may have been that I was a link between Ian's song-oriented approach to music, and Arthur's electronic and groove approach.
